About the St. Peter's Home & School Association
WHAT?
The HSA promotes and maintains parental interest and involvement in the school. It provides a vehicle for communication and community building between parents and the administration, faculty and staff. It facilitates cooperative activities that are beneficial to the school.
WHO?
The HSA Board is made up for four parents each year. Committees are lead by a large number of different SPCS parents. The committee list is provided here. Every SPCS parent, faculty & staff member is a “member” without a formal application or joining process. There are no dues. There are typically 3 faculty members on the Board: Mr. Jones, Mrs. Watson and an appointed teacher member.
WHEN?
Throughout the year!! The HSA hosts 2 family socials—the annual welcome back social and a spring Pizza Bingo. We, also, help the Halloween Carnival chair with anything needed, as well as run Painless Fundraising (Dine-Arounds, Food Lion MVP cards, etc). We assist the SPS Development Director, Nancy Sturgis with a spring fundraiser (like an auction or casino night) and raise funds to provide mini-grants to teachers each year. The Board and Committee chairs meet once a month at 8:00 AM on the first Tuesday of the month in the school cafeteria. All parents are always welcome to join us if they want to learn more and help out!
