Safe Environment Training
What is Safe Environment Training or SET?
Safe Environment Training is a Diocesan training curriculum for adults working with children. This required training is focused on recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect. Please keep in mind that the information being presented is not appropriate for children and babysitting will not be available.
Who must take part in a SET workshop?
Anyone interested in working with children at our school, school-sponsored events, or Church must complete this training. This includes all staff members and anyone interested in volunteering.
When are the upcoming SET workshop opportunities at St. Peter Catholic Church?
Please see the following list of workshops scheduled at this point:
Monday, August 21st 7:00pm
Thursday, September 7th 7:00pm
Monday, October 16th 6:30pm
Other SET workshops may be scheduled throughout the year.
(Note: All of these workshops will be held at the St. Peter Catholic Church Spiritual Life Center. Other local SET workshop opportunities may be found on the Diocesan website at www.dioceseofraleigh.org)
I am interested in volunteering. How do I sign up for one of the SET workshops listed above?
Please keep in mind that you need to register ahead of time to ensure we have enough materials. To register, email Colette DeLeo at [email protected].
She will email you the necessary volunteer application that includes three personal references and a written consent for background check. It is extremely important to complete this application and bring it with you to the workshop.
How often must I re-certify my Safe Environment Training?
You must complete a SET workshop every five years.
